“Pangasinan Rep. Leopoldo Bataoil is pushing for the protection and conservation of “Baybayin” and its adoption as the National Script of the Philippines.

“If we are doing our best to preserve our endangered species, how much more should we do all means to preserve our endangered national treasure, the baybayan script?”

As proposed, Baybayin, also known as Alibata shall be declared as the national script and inscribed in various uses such as locally produced or processed goods with suitable translations of packaging literature.”
