The 4 Letters of God “YHWH” in Hebrew

It is not uncommon for letters, pictographs and symbols to have deep hidden meanings—even magical power, for cultures around the world have rich histories and stories connected to symbols, letters and written words. Other countries and cultures too have symbols and writing systems that were multi-dimensional, that is, their writing systems in application could not only be read as words and every day messages or chronicles, but also could convey that meanings that were profound, sacred or even used as divination. 

Tetragrammation is a greek word that means “having four letters” and refers to YHWH the name of the Hebrew God.

In the book of Western Mysteries: An Encyclopedic Guide to the Sacred Languages & Magickal Systems of the World, by David Allen Huse, the four letters for YHWH are related in esotericism with the four elements:

If we take a closer look at the breakdown of this page we see that Huse’s chart for the Elemental Tetragrammaton includes not only the Elements in relation to the four letters of the Tetragrammaton but also Gender, Family, the four directions, and lastly the Tarot suits.

Because of the discussion on the deeper meanings of BATHALA/BAHALA, I find the gender balance found in the Tetragrammaton very relevant.
